Kaira M. Cabañas
Kaira M. Cabañas is the author of several books, including Immanent Vitalities: Meaning and Materiality in Modern and Contemporary Art, which received the College Art Association’s Frank Jewett Mather Award and Learning from Madness: Brazilian Modernism and Global Contemporary Art, which was a finalist for the Modernist Studies Association Book Prize. She was guest curator of Specters of Artaud at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and curator-at-large for Histories of Madness and Delirium at the Museu de Arte de São Paulo. Since 2023, she has served as the associate dean for academic programs and publications at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.
